If your item is stained with grease or oil use a degreaser made especially for concrete.
Paint to use on concrete bird bath.
Paint the birdbath whatever color you want to make it.
You can fill the pores in concrete and create an adhesive surface for paint by priming the concrete birdbath before painting.
I recommend flat exterior paint over enamels or med or hi gloss paints because they tend to smear whereas flat paint doesn t.
For this use acrylic paint also.
Let the bird bath dry and brush off any loose flakes or chips.
Step 3 apply a concrete sealer.
Don t use it inside the basin though use bilge paint more on that next non toxic concrete sealer for bird bath.
Use a concrete sealer to coat the birdbath.
A coat of brightly colored paint makes a birdbath stand out boldly in the middle of a garden bed.
Buy a primer that states on the packaging that it is intended for use on concrete surfaces and apply the primer evenly over the surface of the birdbath with a paintbrush.
Step 4 apply primer and paint.
Use the scrub brush to gently clean your bird bath or other concrete item with the mixture.
If you have several garden features with a weathered or patina look use multiple colors of paint to match a new concrete birdbath to the aged pieces.
