Outdoor Lamp Post Light Not Working

It could have a smaller base such as a candelabra but the bulb is a normal incandescent light bulb.

Make sure the light bulb is the right size and type. Sometimes the wire filament inside the light bulb may be broken but when it is in certain positions it will make contact and light up therefore a new bulb may be required. I have an outdoor lamp post light that stopped working. I have checked the power to the light many times it keeps lighting the 120v on the power checker.

Normally this type of post light would have a regular light bulb. Like many other styles of outdoor lighting post lights have benefited greatly from new lighting technologies like led bulbs and solar panels. Trim back any overgrowth or simply move the light so its panel receives direct sunlight much of the day. If the tester does not light up remove the outlet cover.

If the tester still does not light up replace the receptacle. I have tried several bulbs a new light socket and a separate lamp connected to the two power lines black and white. Check for loose wiring on the receptacle and re insert the tester into the receptacle. How can it have power but does not work.
